Editorial Principles
The editorial principles of the Publishing House of the Karaganda National Research University named after Academician E.A. Buketov are based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Best Practice Guidelines for Scientific Editors. They include:
- ensuring an objective and fair selection of manuscripts for publication;
- maintaining the confidentiality of submitted materials until their official publication;
- preventing conflicts of interest in editorial decisions;
- refusing to publish materials that violate legal norms, including libel, plagiarism, and copyright infringement;
- maintaining transparency in the editorial process and adhering to international standards of publication ethics;
- using proven tools to detect violations, including plagiarism and the inappropriate use of artificial intelligence technologies;
- ensuring a high level of professional responsibility for editors, editorial board members, and reviewers.
Fairness
The editor is obligated to evaluate manuscripts on their intellectual merits without regard to race, gender, religious beliefs, ethnicity, citizenship, or political philosophy.
Confidentiality
The editor and any employee of the editorial department of the Publishing House of the NJSC "Karaganda National Research University named after Academician E.A. Buketov" must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author(s), reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial consultants, and the publisher, under any circumstances.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used by the editor in their own research without the written consent of the author(s). Information or ideas obtained during peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal gain. Editors should decline to consider a manuscript (contact a co-editor or another member of the editorial board) if the research raises a conflict of interest. Editors should require all authors to disclose conflicts of interest and publish corrections if a conflict of interest is discovered after publication. If necessary, other appropriate actions should be taken, such as publishing a review or expressing concern.
